![]() ![]() If I am baking this from one of my frozen pre-prepared stashed casseroles, I pull it out the night before and thaw it in the fridge. Then top with the tots, and bake in my lasagna dish for one casserole with leftovers, or I divide it up into 2 smaller ones and freeze the other for a 'rainy day.' The water from the frozen vegetables and the frozen tots mixes with the soup when it bakes, so truthfully you could leave out the milk and it wouldn't be a problem. Heat oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. I put a generous frozen mixed vegetable layer, and use reduced fat (2% milk) cheese I have on hand. Then, add cream of mushroom soup and stir well. Mix veggies, soup, milk, seasonings, & beef in a baking dish. ![]() Sprinkle additional 1/2 cup cheese, bake for 5 more minutes. Market Day Ground Beef 1 small onion, chopped (optional) Salt and pepper to taste 1 package (16 oz.) frozen Tater Tots 1 can (10.5 oz. Remove from the oven and add frozen tater tots. Transfer turkey and onion mixture to baking dish. In a large bowl, combine meat mixture, soups, corn, peas, browning sauce, garlic salt, red pepper, paprika, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and sage. While oven is preheating, brown ground turkey and onion drain. ![]() Cover and bake it at 375° for 10 minutes. In a large skillet, combine ground chuck, onion, and garlic cook over medium-high heat until meat is browned and crumbles. Once the beef has been browned, drain any grease. Brown ground beef & onion in a large skillet. Prepare the filling, add the vegetables, and add the cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste, if desired. To use a whole pack of ground turkey (2.5 lbs), I mix in 2 cans of healthy request cream of mushroom soup, with the 1/2 cup of milk. Cook and stir ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until cooked through and no longer pink. In fact, I just had the leftovers for lunch today! However, I have tweaked it for a more healthy recipe, and I make a BIG BATCH at one time cause I do love the stuff! I buy the big packs of ground turkey and the big bag of frozen organic mixed vegetables at Sam's Club. I have been eating this ever since I was a kid, and this is one of my favorite comfort casseroles. ![]()
